As a lot of people know, Adobe is working on getting Flash out for mobile handsets, which would open a entire extra world of cellular entertainment (mobile phones wouldn’t be held to only third party apps such as YouTube, but could actually go to venues such as Hulu to watch TV shows).
There is, though, a war brewing around Adobe and Apple. Whilst cell phones and the iPhone have never been capable to play anything that is Flash based, Adobe has gone and added a new error screen that pertains directly to the iPhone and Apple.
The slip message says “Apple restricts the use of technologies necessary by products like Flash player. Until Apple gets rid of these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone or iPod Touch.”
I am guessing that Adobe’s idea when it posted this was to get users irritated enough to contact Apple in relation to Flash not being hosted. The only thing I can think of that could maybe get users even more annoyed than saying that Apple is at fault is to say which handsets do consent to Flash.
I am really looking onward to owning Flash on my Palm Pre, even though now it doesn’t look like I will be getting itin any way on my iPod Touch.
