Opening recently was a local star billed stage show called the innocents. There has been a lot of mystical speculations regarding the portrait which hangs at this show's set. And the long time owner of this picture is someone who maintains anonymity. The owner was traveling down the road when this picture suddenly got her eye and she suddenly bought it under reasons even she cannot understand. Even as she thought of how she can possibly afford it, she still stayed there waiting for the clerk to hand it to her. It's almost time for the children to go back to school and books, clothes, and school supplies are to be bought. I am sorry I cannot afford it no matter how beautiful it is, she recalls pondering about these words which she will tell the saleslady. Before the attendant could return the portrait, the lady shrieked about how badly she wanted and had to get that painting. She hurried out of the antique store after paying the attendant but she could not figure out why she got that picture even as she could not afford it and she was also wondering about how she will explain herself to her spouse once he gets home and sees what she had spent so much for. This oil painting was of a Russian wolfhound known as a Borzoi, done between the late 1800's or perhaps the early 1900's. This very beautiful picture when scrutinized by someone familiar with the Borzoi will easily wonder why the Borzoi in the picture was painted with an almost straight on pose and he will also get to wonder why it is only the dog's head and shoulders shown there. There is no proper proportion when you look closer at the shoulder and chest. Oddly, the woman whose eyes were so trained to know what a Borzoi should exactly look like still did not let go of the portrait and finally bought it. That night, her husband arrived and found the picture hung against their wall but then instead of blowing up since his wife overspent for that painting instead of buying the needs of their children first, she was surprised that he felt exactly what she gad felt too when she first saw it. Going through all the photos shot by both amateurs and experts in photography, it was a wonder how no two shots of it ever came out to be the same. There are times that the dog painting would look like it was three dimensional, while flat at some times, then most of the time it seems that the pictures were in color or black and white some strange lights would show but the creepiest would be the times when a spectral silhouette would be showing on the portrait's right area. As the husband and wife talked about the portrait, they lingered about the possibility of it being haunted by a supernatural force, but he quickly dismissed it, stating that light reflections or their overactive imaginations are to be blamed for nothing could possibly be unnatural about the painting. Suddenly, a huge ceramic dish, which was initially hung on the wall fell with a crash on the floor without breaking into pieces. The Innocents production head and director asked the couple who owned the portrait if he could loan it for his play revolved around the story of the supernatural and he was relieved to learn that they gladly consented to making it part of the backdrop of his stage presentation. We never truly found out who or what it is that moved into our home the day we got the portrait and perhaps you can help us with this as we lend this to you for your production, the Innocents, the couple told the producer. This being true is what they wish for at the very least.
