A Lack Of Proper Physical Activity Is A Big Problem For Most People

By: Gen Wright

Not getting enough proper muscle building and maintaining exercise is a significant problem for most people in our inactive and sedentary modern world. Everyone would like to believe that they get enough exercise and are active enough but in reality they do not. Although we are all 'busy' and are sometimes rushing around that is not moving our body like it has been designed to be moved.

We often get up, get in the car, spend all day at work at a desk, get back in the car to drive home then sit for the rest of the evening watching television or at the computer before going to bed again. Up to 80 percent of the day is spent sitting in one type of chair or another. This means nearly all of the 16 odd hours we are awake is spent in a sedentary manner expending very little energy. This does not represent an active lifestyle.

Without enough activity dangerous fat builds up inside our bodies when fat burning enzymes can not do their job properly when blood circulation is slowed down. This fat wraps itself around major organs and releases toxic chemicals in the most susceptible part of the human body -the abdomen where all of our working 'machinery' is located.

You can be at normal body weight and have this harmful fat deep inside your body and you will not even know that you have it. But if you do not do enough activity you will likely have it and the massive health risks it brings for killer diseases like heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

Often people do not exercise as they find it hard to do and hard to stick too. It is a shame that many uninformed people say to just find 'something you enjoy' that exercise 'should be fun'. Well, let me tell you exercise is not fun. It is the physical 'work' our bodies have been designed to do.

After being told by so many people that is should be fun it is a shock to find this is incorrect and that is does require some effort. How could this be any other way if it is to challenge the body and bring strength and fitness results? Our bodies are capable of great physical strength and our modern life siphons it away and leaves us weak, drained and sick and we now think this is normal and the way it should be.

Well it is not the way it should be and we can stop the chronic disease that 50 percent of us are inflicted with and have great physical, mental and emotional health along with more energy, vitality and vigor so we can make the very most of our life.

All it takes is 2-3 sessions each week of proper exercise - strength training is perfect as it gives the muscles the direct controlled loading that they need to stay strong and therefore healthy. The muscles need to work against adequate resistance so long duration low intensity activity does not build the strength in the muscles that is needed for health and well-being.

Yet this is what people are told to do just go 'for a walk' type of activity. Well if you rely on these types of activity they are not going to cut it when it comes to body strength. Most people are busy and do not have time for ineffective long duration activity and this is where strength training exercise will give you the 'most bang for your buck'.

Get yourself started on your program and within a few weeks and beyond you will enjoy the many benefits that come when your body and its cells are 'woken up' and given a boost deep down at cellular level. Once you experience this you will want it forever.
