Worldwide, nature is being alarmingly impacted by man-made emissions, spillage and effluent, two of the most apparent effects being climate change and acid rain. It looks as if we're disregarding the damage we're doing to this amazing planet of ours. Visualize wandering around a city centre and enjoy clean air which has no poisonous toxins caused by our pollution, wouldn't it be great? But this is no longer possible; we humans have made certain that with the pollution we've created we'll be breathing in airborne poisons, which can impair our habitat and ultimately our health. We humans find it hard to avoid the fallout from the terrible effect that pollution, such as oil and chemical spills, is having on our oceans and all its inhabitants. Lots of fishing jobs that were centered on the healthy bounty of the sea have been eliminated. Fishing has provided for the dinner table and the well-being of so many communities for so long, that it almost seems unthinkable that today we are seeing its demise. A significant instance of how we are spoiling the ocean is with oil spills, a recent example of this is the Deepwater Horizon spill which left many people unemployed and cost billions of dollars to sort out. So much wildlife died in that event, not merely fish but birds as well, impacting the whole eco system which can cause no end of problems in the food chain. All brought about by humans and their thirst for oil, with hardly a thought, except in hindsight, for Mother Earth and her many other children. Instead of investing in existing green energy methodologies and further research into fresh possibilities, we persist in spending billions of dollars on oil exploration. The prospect of providing massive amounts of green energy is huge, without harming the environment. One would think it's a no-brainer, given the possibilities offered by green energy alternatives, along with their being passive towards the environment. One alternative that will heat water in addition to provide power, is solar panels, which are very efficient in sunny locations. An additional green energy source is wind turbines, that change energy contained in wind to electricity. The great thing about wind turbines, provided there's enough wind, is that they perform all day and all night. Oil is destroying the earth and it will eventually run out, so it's important to invest in green energy production now more than ever. Perhaps then we can halt or possibly even reverse the terrible effects of global warming and pollution. It is you and me that are going to experience some benefits in the short term and future generations will benefit in the long term. As an alternative to being at the mercy of severe weather patterns and harsh living conditions, our children, and their children, could live healthily in a clean, beautiful, and bounteous environment. However, unless we begin living green and caring for our environment, this won't happen. It is going to take time, money and much endeavour to try and minimize the damage of our actions on the environment, but it will be worth it.

We live in a world where pollution is destroying everything in nature, and we're seeing terrible effects like acid rain and global warming. It would be wonderful if we could reside on this amazing planet without destroying it in the process.
