They have added responsibilities like reading the patients charts, updating the patients profile and file the documents and test papers regularly. The patients rely on their medicines to be given by the licensed pharmacist, but the technician is the main person behind the scene who prepares it for them. This job involves responsibility and dedication. Accuracy and alertness is always required. In big hospitals, technicians also have shifts and should be willing to work throughout a hospital's 24-hour schedule. Most of the pharmacy technicians are trained on the job only. They get the required pharmacy technician training by following the instructions from their senior supervisors. Some big hospitals and employers who are not willing to take the employee risk of inexperience usually prefer to employ staffs who have certificates from nationalized institutes and pharmacy tech schools and colleges.
