5 Rationale Why PI Cases Are Rewarding Currently

By: Frank Lee

It's no top secret. You feel it. I sense it. No other time in history have there been so many elements struggling against the victory of hard working chiropractors.

Poor insurance payouts, Medicare reductions, and a limiting HMO/PPO contracts have all combined render it thorny on chiropractic practices all over the country.

Include to that the current recession, which remains to place numerous doctors out of business, and you have what some folks call the Perfect Storm.

Chiropractor's personal income has been decreasing. Sadly some have even had to lock their doors and find a post conducting for somebody else.

It's not getting any less difficult. Even with all the queries re the novel Health Care Reform Act, conditions are probably to get much shoddier. Wouldn't you agree?

While as medical practitioners, our heart most of the time desires to support every client, we have to settle the bills otherwise shut the doors. While the irregular gratis case is seen in chiropractors offices (maybe more than any other health care profession), a lot of us did not open our business to toil through.

As a doctor of chiropractic you need to get paid, and get paid well for what you perform .

That's why I like checking lots of personal injury clients. None of the concerns I stated above actually influence PI cases.

1. PI cases are at a lowest 2-3 times higher in payouts than Major Med or Medicare patients.

It's highly probable that someone involved in a motor vehicle collision will take more care than the ordinary chiropractic client. Not necessarily more visits, although that could be the situation, but more services per visit due to bruising, ligament damage, disc herniations, etc.

2. PI cases are not component of the national healthcare/health insurance mess.

Who knows what's going to crop up with the alterations in medical insurance. However, one thing we do know is that these alterations do not apply to Auto Insurance Policies. This means suppose done the correct system, you'll get paid for what you did on that injured PI client.

3. Most Auto carriers give liberal rates for your services.

Have you ever had your fees cut 40%…50%…60% by a Major Med carrier? Seldom have I witness a PI carrier cut PI case fees.

What about lawyers reducing payment?

4. You've got an lawyer struggling for the client (and you!)

Lawyers aren't always awful right? In particular when they're conducting for your patient so you can get paid. By all means it takes a bit longer to get paid on some PI cases, but at 2-3 times the payout, it's well worth it.

5. There are copious amounts of studies supporting up your care for auto injuries.

assuming you're attempting to establish your case as to why the client required all the care you presented, you've got a overabundance of studies that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. This comes in very practical when writing a story.
