5 Different Locations Where A Step Stool May Be Necessary

By: Gen Wright

Have you ever thought of all of the places where you could use a step stool? If not, consider this: just about every job around the house could be made easier and safer just by utilizing a step stool. Here are a few examples of places around the house that could use a step stool:

1. The Garage. We all have the tendency to store things on high shelves and in the rafters of our garages only to have difficulty retrieving those items when we need them. Not so with a step stool. Keeping a three-step stool handy in the garage can make staying organized that much easier.

2. The Bathroom. Tired of pulling down a mountain of toilet paper or a pile of towels onto your head every time you reach for one on a top shelf in the bathroom? Keep a small step stool in the linen closet to make retrieving items that much easier. If you happen to have small children, putting a small step stool within easy reach can help them reach the toilet and/or sink which will cut down on messy accidents.

3. The Kitchen. Most kitchens have shelves and cupboards that are so high they are left unusable. Stop wasting that space. A step stool can make it easy to reach those high places and give you loads of more cabinet space. Plus it will keep children from climbing on your counters to reach items stored out of their reach, which is a dangerous way to reach anything.

4. The Bedroom. If you have the tendency to store out of season clothing, linens or even shoes on higher closet shelves, get yourself a step stool to make getting things in and out of your storage areas simpler. Another great use for step stools in the bedroom: dusting the corners of the room and hanging light fixtures.

5. Back Porch/Patio. There are a lot of reasons why keeping a step stool handy on your porch or patio is a must for today's homeowner. You can use them to hang outdoor lighting, reach windows and sills, get lost balls down form roofs, hang planters and more.

As you can see, there are quite a few ways in which a simple step stool can be used in and outside of the house. The key to using it more is to think about all of a stool's benefits when tackling a hard-to-reach project.
