The Iphone Four sold nearly one and a half million phones in just a few days when it was launched a couple of months ago. However reports are also coming in that there are a few launch bugs with the phone and while they may not be deal breakers, this isn't what we have come to expect of apples high product standards, the most famous of these faults being the 'Death Grip' as well as broken cameras, yellow screens this phone seems to have a few more launch bugs than the usual apple products. Here is what you can expect from your new iPhone and how to deal with any problems if they appear on your brand new phone. Number one The Death Grip. This is one of the most famous bugs for the iPhone and has been parodied and ridiculed since it has discovered. Before the phone even launched there were rumours and reports that the phone was suffering from poor signal.Reception on the iphone was called a 'mixed bag' by Walt Mossberg who was one of the few journalists who got their hands on an iPhone 4 before launched without having to pay up. As soon as the phone was launched consumers echoed these complaints. It seems that connecting or covering the antenna i the bottom left of the phone would make your signal go from full to nothing, so if you hold the phone in your left hand it will cut off all signal and drop your calls, the so called 'death grip'. Apple has come out and stated that the iPhone 4 has a hardware issue, and instead said it was an issue with how the signal is displayed on the phone. However independent Consumer Reports confirmed that this was was the case and that the signal would drop or disappearing completely. This led to many sites refusing to recommend the phone as a good customer purchase, pretty damming and unexpected for an Apple product. The way to fix it is to buy a bumper case or to cover the phone in a protective band around the edge of the phone. Apple will be providing these for free, otherwise you can just avoid holding it in your hand in a way that covers the antenna. Number two The Rear camera stops working Apparently the virtual shutter stays shut and won't open, ever. Even on many working phones this has suddenly broken over the course of time, and given that it has only been out for a few months that's not a very good shelf life. At the time of writing there is no fix for this, you will have to send in your phone for repairs. Second camera problem - Rear camera white balance doesn't work While the iphone has had some great shots from the rear camera, it can shoot in HD and has even been used to shoot music videos, indoors the phone reports many problems. It seems to see white as yellow when it is indoors and as such it sets the colour balance off and will give your pictures a weird tinge. How to fix it - there is no known fix at the time of writing, but it has been suggested that this will be fixed in the new firmware update. Number three Yellow discoloration on The Screen Dozens of early adopters have said that they are getting a yellow discoloration at the edges of their iPhone screens, and that it is usually in bands or blotches. Remedy: Some reports suggest the bonding agent used under the screen, was left uncured in the rush to get iPhones out the door and caused the yellow hue. Waiting a few days has apparently cleared it up for some folks. Number four The Glass on the Screen Easily Scratches or Breaks Apparently the glass is 'Chemically strengthened to be twenty times stiffer and thirty times harder than plastic,' but at the end of the day apparently glass is still glass. Gizmodo's Ryan Salerno shattered the glass back of his phone the day he bought when he dropped it at ear height. Remedy: Put is in a case and protect it you want there to be as much cushioning to take the impact as possible and try using a screen protector that covers the front and the back.
