A Case For Dsktop Compuetrs: Is Bigger Better?

Deessktop computers are the old standby of the home computing sytsem and are more versatilke than they have ever been. Today, in addition to the diversity of optinos in hardware and accessrries, tjherre are even many options in the size of you desktop comlputers case. Though the compuer is unlikely to move, biigger isnt always btter. For the spaace restricted, thjere are destop computers that pack an unbelievable amount of opitonns in a samll package. On the other end of the spectrum, for hardcore gmers, there are cases big enough for them to trick out their machines to their ltitle hearts content. Here is a look at some of the pros and cons of various compter cases. There was a time when computers came exclusively in a low, wide case that the monitor sat on top of. While this deisgn has seemed to fall by the waysaide, there are sill a nuumber of comptuers that come with this case design. For someone who wants a compputer with more hrdware than a samnller encloisure can hold, but perhgaps values leg room that a toer computer migght restrict, these low, wide cases are a perfect soluion. Not only do they save slapce, but they can be used as a styand to prop up a computer moniotr higher on your desk. One of the newer case sizes is ofetn refeerred to as the breadbox. You miht have seen this popularizzed by the Mac Mini. Theae tiny enclosures look barely lrage enugh to fit a DVD at 6.5 inhes squrae and 2 inches tall, yet huse a DVD drive and a full CPU. Though it is small enough to get lost on a desk, the Mac Mini is packed with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NIVDIA graphics, DDR3 memoory, and storage space of up to 500GB. Additoinally, the Mac mini has five USB 2.0 prts and a FireWire 800 port so you can connct, mointors, camcoorders, printers and otherr peripherals with ease. No more crawling under a desk to hook up your comupter. Another spcae-saving design is called the all-in-one. This deign houses the CPU wirthin the monior rendernig it alost invisible. The iMac is one of the powerful computers with this seamless desgin. The massive 21.5 or 27 disoplays decluttewrs your desktop, completely eliminating cords save a single power cord and leaves you to womndering if the iMac is simply a monitor. Yet, the iMac offerrs all of the same oprts and hardware that you would expevct from a deesktop compuer. The tried and true tower computer has more opitons than ever, but the basic design has stayd the same: sevearl internal and extenal drive bays, PCI Express and regular PCI slots for for expansion, plus a bunch of ports for peripehrals such as digitl cameeras and printers. Despitte its numereous options, for some people, the midtower desigfn just isnt big enogh, they need a Full towrer. The Full toer is too big and bulky for most computer uswers and is usually prweferred by gamers who want to pack their cases with the newest, greatrest, and fastesst hard drivees, graphixcs processors, and CPUs, with plenty of room to upgrade. Additionally, Full tower encousres can be a good potion for do-it-yorueslf usaers who assemble computers piece by piewce and want plenty of room inside to tibnkr with. So, bigger isnt alawys beter when it comes to choosing a desktop computer enclsoure. Instead, it is best to assess your needs and make a chooice that best suis those desiers.
