The Family Summer Break vacation is fast becoming outlandishly costly. Well, there are still great ways to change that without cramping your style. Presented for you are ten great ways to assist in saving euros while enjoying your next beach vacation.(1) Take a couple days to discover the country - Drive. With the friendly skies skewering you for everything but air these days the expense for a family of four to travel by air even quick flights is well over $1500, after taking into consideration of car parking, airport shuttles and the other miscellaneous expenses and such the outrageously priced inner sanctum of the local airport. Besides, when you drive you have a familiar car with all the amenities you desire less the additional $40-$100 the rental agency is going to charge per day. Despite gas prices that loom near an all time high, a minivan going 1200 miles will usually fill up three or four times (for about $160 in cost each way). When you compare that vs the cost of checking bags at $25 a piece and it should be a short discussion.(2) Check prices for groceries in the area you will be visiting and determine if it is cheaper to buy essentials ahead of time. You have extra room since you will have your car there should plenty of space for a few bags of core need groceries. This tip can easily save enough for the whole family to have a spectacular sunset four star dinner.(3) Why be cramped in? Look at Vacation Rentals.. Virtually every area has a nice supply of Vacation Rentals by Owner that will include full kitchens, lots of room to relax and all the features you and your family are accustomed to without large extra charges. The majority of rentals include full satellite tv, high speed internet access, at least local calls and room to really enjoy your vacation.(4) Take advantage of coupons. Whether you are looking for lodging, food, or attractions - coupons will save you money! Search everywhere... online, in local newspapers, at convenience stores, motels, etc. But make sure to read and understand the fine print closely for possible restrictions of the coupon.(5) Don't eat out for minor meals!. For goodness sake, unless your last name is Hilton or Rockefeller (which begs to wonder why you are even reading this) you do it at home all the time. A couple dozen eggs will set you back at most five bucks and should last the week. Bread a couple bucks and if you need protein and coffee at most another $10. Total cost for 10 breakfasts for the entire crew - maybe $20 dollars! Does the local pancake shop really have food that is that much better? I highly doubt it.(6) Pack thermos that are easily refillable, actually this is a great idea year round. Its environmentally conscious and a HUGE money saver. If you assume a couple bottles per day for each person and you are talking somewhere between $20 and $30 per day in savings. Refill at the condo and at any attraction water fountains. (7) Look into multi-day passes at the parks. This is especially a sweet deal when they are unrestricted.Look around online and call the attraction in case they have any special deals that might not be widely advertised.(8) Work direct with the owner of the property to get the best deals. Local Management companies will always charge between twenty and 30% more if you book through them. Plus, having a knowledgeable local as a source for planning and discovering "local" areas of interest that might be off the beaten path makes for a vacation to remember.(9) Agree on a daily spending limit for all in the family. Kids and parents alike get caught up in the fun of vacation, how long will that $8 giant lollipop last? Just set an amount and make everyone stick to it. This will avoid issues and still allow everyone to get items they will cherish many years later.(10) Pick your Vacation Rental carefully. For instance, many Vacation Rentals allow stays of as little as 5 days. Looking to visit Disney World in Orlando but your spouse really wants to hang out at the beach while in Florida. check out an Orlando Vacation Home for 3 nights - experience Disney - then head west less than an hour and a half to check in to a Beach Front Vacation Rental in Treasure Island, outside Tampa for the remainder of the trip. With a variety of parks, the Gulf of Mexico, John's Pass and a multitude of low cost and free things to do, you will save big money and keep everyone in your party happy with a Vacation they are not soon to forget.
